چکیده

In this paper, we combine separate works on (a) the transfer of infinitesimal rigidity results from an Euclidean space to the next higher dimension by coning [28], (b) the further transfer of these results to spherical space via associated rigidity matrices [19], and (c) the prediction of finite motions from symmetric infinitesimal motions at regular points of the symmetryderived orbit rigidity matrix [23]. Each of these techniques is reworked and simplified to apply across several metrics, including the Minkowskian metricMd and the hyperbolic metricHd. This leads to a set of new results transferring infinitesimal and finite motions associated with corresponding symmetric frameworks among Ed, cones in Ed+1, Sd, Md, and Hd. We also consider the further extensions associated with the other Cayley-Klein geometries overlaid on the shared underlying projective geometry.

The Orbit Rigidity Matrix of a Symmetric Framework

A number of recent papers have studied when symmetry causes frameworks on a graph to become infinitesimally flexible, or stressed, and when it has no impact. A number of other recent papers have studied special classes of frameworks on generically rigid graphs which are finite mechanisms. Here we introduce a new tool, the orbit matrix, which connects these two areas and provides a matrix repres...

Simulation of Water Coning in Oil Reservoirs Using a Corrected IMPES Method

Implicit pressure-explicit saturation method (IMPES) is widely used in oil reservoir simulation to study the multiphase flow in porous media. This method has no complexity compared to the fully implicit method, although both of them are based on the finite difference technique. Water coning is one the most important phenomenon that affects the oil production from oil reservoirs having a water d...

Simplicity of the spherical spin-glass model.

We revisit an approach to the replica-based analysis of the spherical spin-glass model that makes use of a mapping of the problem onto a one-dimensional interacting charge system. A saddle point approximation leads to the conclusion that the interaction between charges is irrelevant in the thermodynamic limit, and as a consequence, that there is no nontrivial correlation between replicas for th...

Correction: Tang, C. Y. and Chen, X.Y. A Class of Coning Algorithms Based on a Half-Compressed Structure.

Aiming to advance the coning algorithm performance of strapdown inertial navigation systems, a new half-compressed coning correction structure is presented. The half-compressed algorithm structure is analytically proven to be equivalent to the traditional compressed structure under coning environments. The half-compressed algorithm coefficients allow direct configuration from traditional compre...

Determination of Original Gas Condensate Composition in The Case of Gas Coning

Obtaining samples that represent original fluid of reservoirs optimizes reservoirs management. The optimized management increases recovery. Also, selecting and performing proper Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) or Enhance Oil Recovery (EOR) programs depend on collecting representative samples. Achieving accurate compositions of original in-situ fluid prevents overdesigning surface facilities. Re...
